Important Information

  • You will have been allocated one of three main entrances into the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party:
    • Bank Street / Top of The Mound (South City Centre)
    • Princes Street East End via Balmoral Hotel (East City Centre)
    • West End (end of Princes Street/South Charlotte Street)
  • Please note Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party tickets DO NOT allow access into the Concert in the Gardens event arena in West Princes Street Gardens
  • Re-Entry to the event is NOT permitted (i.e. leaving the Street Party arena and then trying to regain admittance)
  • No persons under 12 years of age permitted at the Street Party
  • Anyone under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult over 18 years of age
  • Please note the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party is a VERY busy, large-scale outdoor festival event, with 50,000 people attending events in the city centre. There are entertainment areas throughout the arena, with East and West Ends of Princes Street providing more comfortable viewing areas for the Midnight Fireworks. Please do not attend if you are not comfortable in large crowds.

PROHIBITED ITEMS:

  • Alcohol can be brought into the Street Party event arena in plastic or metal containers under 500ml. Glass containers are NOT permitted in the event arena
  • Maximum number of containers you can bring into the Street Party event arena is 4 per person
  • This event has a strict NO DRONE policy
  • Do not bring any bags larger than a sheet of A3 paper (297mm x 420mm)
  • Please note, in the interests of safety, Event Organisers reserve the right to conduct security searches of bags and clothing on entry
  • Please arrive early, last entry 11pm, please note specific entry gates may be closed temporarily throughout event for safety reasons. You would be directed to your nearest entrance gate on arrival.
  • Please note: this is an outdoor event taking place in winter in Scotland. Please dress for the weather and make sure you have warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear if required. We operate a no-umbrellas policy for safety reasons and to ensure sightlines of other people. We will provide weather updates across all four days of events and be prepared for all weather eventualities.

SILENT ADVENTURES MEGA SILENT DISCO TICKETS:

  • Entry to the Silent Disco bundle ticket holders is strictly via BANK STREET ONLY.
  • Standard Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party tickets do not grant access to the Silent Disco.
  • No entry for persons under 12 years old; those under 16 must be with an adult over 18.
  • Please arrive early. The last entry 11 pm (23:00). Please note specific entry gates may be closed temporarily throughout the event for safety reasons. You will be directed to your nearest entrance gate on arrival.

Getting here:

You will have an allocated entrance to enter Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party. Please double check your ticket for which gate to enter.

Please note that road closures will be in place, so check for service diversions before setting off. Full details of road closures can be found here.

Catching the train? Edinburgh Waverley Station is less than a 5 min walk from the Bank Street and Princes Street East End Entrances. If you’re entering via Princes Street West End, Haymarket Station is just a 15 min walk away.

Getting Home:

Lothian Buses

Lothian Buses will provide Hogmanay Night Buses running from midnight to 04:00am to each area of the city as well as various Mid-Lothian, West Lothian, East Lothian and Queensferry Routes.

Edinburgh Trams will provide FREE night trams from midnight to 2am every 10 minutes, then every 20 minutes until the early hours of New Year’s Day. West bound trams (towards Edinburgh Airport) will leave from the West-End Shandwick Place. East bound trams (towards Newhaven) will leave from Picardy Place.

Citylink provide transport across Scotland. Coaches will run direct from the capital to locations across Scotland after the New Year celebrations have ended.  Services available from Edinburgh to; Harthill, Eurocentral, Baillieston, Easterhouse, Glasgow. These services must be pre-booked.
