Getting home

There are many ways to get to, and around the city during Hogmanay.  Both railway stations (Waverley & Haymarket) place you right by the city centre, while excellent bus and tram links from the airport will bring you to where the action is quickly and easily.

Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Trams are renowned for their excellent service, while the city’s taxis will get you where you need to go quickly and with great service – for everything else, Edinburgh’s compact size means one of the best ways to get to know it is on foot.

Scotrail services from destinations across Scotland can bring you to the capital with regular services running up until 8pm on 31.12.17.  Check their festive timetable here.
