Getting here/ getting home
There are many ways to get to, and around the city during Hogmanay. Both railway stations (Waverley & Haymarket) place you right by the city centre, while excellent bus and tram links from the airport will bring you to where the action is quickly and easily.
Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Trams are renowned for their excellent service, while the city’s taxis will get you where you need to go quickly and with great service – for everything else, Edinburgh’s compact size means one of the best ways to get to know it is on foot.
Vistors can also off-set the carbon produced by their journey to Edinburgh when purchasing event tickets. More details can be found on our Sustainability page.
what3words is a simple way to talk about precise locations. It has divided the world into 3m squares and given each a unique 3 word address - so you can refer to any location with just 3 words. We've used what3words to pinpoint the entrance locations for our events, so you can find and navigate to the exact entrance point you need by searching its 3 word address (///word.word.word) in the free what3words app.
