Edinburgh’s Hogmanay were very pleased to present the return of ‘Sprogmanay’, a free afternoon of fun for kids on New Year’s Day, within the incredible surroundings of the National Museum of Scotland.
The event was free, unticketed, with lively performances and vibrant musical activities for all the family, including performances from ‘Mr Fibbers’ / ‘Hip, Hop, Story, Stop!’ with Claire & Fergus McNicol / and the incredible Unicorn Dance Party.
As part of the activities, the ‘Resolution Tree’ invited children to write their hopes and ambitions for the coming year on a star and place it on the tree. Over 1,000 stars were created and the below Word Cloud shows the most common words used:
The National Museum of Scotland is a stunning venue and all its galleries are already packed with fascinating exhibits.

Street Party
Since 1993, the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party has welcomed millions of party people to celebrate in our historic capital, the ‘Home of Hogmanay’, singing and dancing our way into the New Year beneath the majestic Edinburgh Castle.
An evening of spectacular fireworks, music and light, celebrating the arrival of the New Year with friends old and new from around the world.
