The New Year’s Revels; Edinburgh’s premier and original indoor Hogmanay party, returns to the famous Assembly Room on Saturday 31 December, where revellers will birl through the bells courtesy of the finest ceilidh bands, live DJs, and festival favourites Massaoke providing a sing-a-long soundtrack to a spectacular Midnight Moment.

Bring the sing to and the Final Countdown to 2024 with the legendary live band party MASSAOKE! and live DJ’s in the Music Hall, presenting a dazzling, high energy live music experience starring the greatest hairbrush anthems of the 80s, 90s, 00s and beyond, supercharged with mash-ups, megamixes, video screens, giant sing-along lyrics, rock star poses, face-melting guitar solos and YOU – the real stars of the show.

In the Ceilidh Room there is a night of non-stop ceilidh action featuring high-energy tunes from the incredible:

HUGH MACDIARMID’S HAIRCUT – Led by legendary piper, Gary West, presenter of BBC Radio Scotland’s weekly piping programme, ‘Pipeline’, Hugh MacDiarmid’s Haircut were the first ceilidh band to combine bagpipe melodies with modern backing instruments. The band have been gigging  for over 25 years since forming at Edinburgh University. Since then, they have played all over the UK and abroad, with several television appearances, and have entertained thousands as regular guests of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay

BODHRAN BODHRAN – Originally calling itself ‘Bodhran, Bodhran’ after the Celtic drum, the band was formed in 1984 with the following line up:- “Big John” Northcote (Accordion) Sinclair Little (Pipes & Guitar) Fergus Wood (Drums). All three musicians were from The Trossachs, the wild mountainous area of land to the east of Loch Lomond and famed as the home of Rob Roy the 18th Century McGregor chieftain
