Celebrate the New Year by taking part in the 24th Loony Dook, the annual splash in the River Forth in the shadow of the world-famous Forth Rail Bridge. Join in the grand parade led by pipers through Queensferry’s High Street and if you’re still daft enough, dook under the iconic bridges. After the event, it’s back to the welcome comfort of The Moorings to enjoy a well earned hot soup and a toddy.
Spectators welcome and there are plenty of vantage points to view this crazy event. South Queensferry has a variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants, open on New Year’s Day.
