The Loony Dook

FULL EVENT & TICKET DETAILS WILL BE AVAILABLE LATE SUMMER 2012

Tuesday 1 January 2013
You don’t have to be a loony, mad or brave… but it helps.

Celebrate 2013 by taking part in the breathtaking Queensferry Loony Dook, the annual splash in the River Forth. Over the past 25 years, thousands of people have taken the plunge raising thousands of pounds for charities across the UK. Take part in the Dookers Parade through the High Street finding in the Freezing Forth under the gaze of the iconic Forth Bridges.

Spectators welcome to cheer on the brave Loony Dookers at various free vantage points along the route, or down at the beach.

Top Tips:

- Fancy Dress is BEST

- Wear shoes to go into the water (stoney beach)

- South Queensferry has a variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants all open on New Year's Day.

Dookers must buy a ticket in advance and check-in on the day (no tickets on-sale at event). Family and friends are encouraged to get down to the beach early to support the Dookers.

Parking - Please note that parking is restricted during the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Loony Dook and is on a first-come/first-served basis. Please ensure you park with consideration for others.

Viewing - There are vantage points to view The Loony Dook along Queensferry High Street including the pier and beach viewing. Please arrive early to get a good viewing spot.

Dookers Parade processes along High Street to beach area (Parade arrives at Dooking Area shortly after)

Dook takes place following parade
